Open Mic Poetry Night this Thursday

by isleofman.com 9th February 2015

The Island’s next Douglas-based Open Mic Poetry Night is happening at the Bath & Bottle in Victoria Street on 12 February 2015. The evening will start at 8pm, so all poets who would like to perform should aim to get there in good time, as the slots tend to get booked up quickly.

Following the success of the pre-Christmas Open Mic at the Bath & Bottle, there will be an optional theme again – as it’s so close to Valentine’s Day, this will be love in all its forms. But as always, there is no limit on subject matter and poems on any subject are welcomed.

Hazel Teare, one of the organisers, said, ‘Performance poetry in the Island just keeps getting more popular, with more and more people having a go. At our event before Christmas, despite atrocious weather, we were packed out. We’re really grateful to Jamie and team from the Bath & Bottle for providing such a great venue.’

Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy, but please note that the Open Mic Nights are strictly adults only (18+).

For more information or to pre-book a slot on the mic please contact Hazel Teare: music_freak@hotmail.com
