Minister's optimistic signal to post office cooperative

by isleofman.com 8th February 2015
A senior government minister has encouraged a new cooperative group in Ramsey to push ahead with their plans for the town's post office.
At the group's first meeting on Friday, volunteers agreed to draw-up a business plan to run postal services in the town's Courthouse building.
More work is needed to prepare what's described as a 'sustainable community business model' for submission to the Post Office board.
Plans to transfer services from their current location to a sub post office in a Spar shop have proved deeply unpopular in Ramsey.
A three month period for other options to come forward expires in early March.
Policy and Reform minister Chris Robertshaw says the cooperative idea could have 'legs' if it's properly worked out:Clip 1
