The Isle of Man bid to host the 2016 British Cycling National Road Championship has been officially submitted.
A decision is expected by promoters British Cycling at the end of March.
An announcement about the plan to bring the races to the Island was made at the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome in Glasgow last April during a visit by Chief Minister Allan Bell to promote Island-Scottish air links.
The British Championships have been held here before.
They sometimes formed part of International Cycling Week, which was run for almost 70 years, from 1936 to 2003.
Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly says he is no doubt the event will be a success if it comes here:-Clip 1
