With Aalin and Kirsten George away at GB Elite Squad training numbers were a little low on Sunday. Ten archers turned up to shoot the round of the day which was a metric WA18 shot as part of the Club’s Scratch League.
In the Gents Compound division Colin Moore, Pete Mumford and Dave Moore faced off against each other. Dave Moore, once again in possession of his beloved compound bow after it had been on loan to son Rhys, got the better of the encounter finishing 22 points clear of Pete Mumford. Colin Moore was left to fill third place some 20 points behind Peter.
The Ladies Compound division consisted solely of Joy Gough who, as usual, put in a solid round in spite of a lack of competition.
The Gents Recurve was a straight head to head between Danny Cowin and Rhys Moore. Rhys reverting to his normal recurve bow was a little out of practice, suffered three misses and recorded his worst score of the season. Danny Cowin took an easy win over a hundred points clear of Rhys.
Tony Hartley elected to shoot the round with a Traditional flatbow.
Karen Lott was the only Lady Recurve archer in action on Sunday.
Bradley Layton and Toby Young shot in the Junior Gents division. Neither boy shot anywhere near their best. Unsurprisingly it was the far more experienced Bradley Layton who took the win.

The Indoor Championships take place on Sunday. Seniors will shoot in the morning on a WA Triple Face. Juniors will shoot in the afternoon on a Portsmouth single face. Juniors cannot shoot in the morning unless they opt to shoot the Senior round. Seniors will only be able to shoot in the afternoon if there is space to do so and will be expected to score for the Junior archers.
