The Isle of Man will be playing a part at the richest race meeting in the world.
Isle of Man-based Premier Gateway International Ltd (PGI) are working with the Emirates Racing Authority as the host of the international horse race betting pools for this year’s Dubai racing season.
The event includes the Dubai World Cup Carnival - the richest race meeting in the world.
Some of the best horses, jockeys and trainers in the world take part in the Carnival at Meydan racecourse in the United Arab Emirates.
The highlight of the event is the 10 million dollar Dubai World Cup.
Chief Information Officer for PGI, Neil Harmer, says the betting pools for the Carnival attract interest from betting operators around the world who will all be connecting into PGI’s totalisator system located in Douglas.
CEO for e-Gaming Development with the Isle of Man Department of Economic Development Peter Greenhill says the announcement is not only great news for PGI but also for the Isle of Man as it reinforces the island's status as a high quality and respected jurisdiction for gaming and betting business.
