Manx Telecom has been shortlisted for two prestigious awards. The company has been listed in the ‘Best Telecommunications PLC’ category of the UK Stock Market Awards which are based on the industry standard 'Super Sector' classifications as defined by FTSE. This provides a rigorous and detailed comparison of performance, management acumen and sector conditions which benchmarks companies against their immediate peers. The winners of the UK Stock Market Awards – which are sponsored by KPMG – will be announced at a dinner on March 26 at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London.

Manx Telecom are also shortlisted in the ‘IPO of the Year’ category at the Quoted Company Awards which is the largest and most respected independent event to showcase the fastest growing UK-listed PLCs. Now in its 11th year, the awards recognise the achievements of best performing quoted companies listed outside of the FTSE 350.An independent judging panel chooses the winners who will be announced at an awards ceremony on January 28 at The Natural History Museum in London.Manx Telecom became a PLC in February last year following a successful AIM (Alternative Investment Market) flotation.

Mike Dee, Manx Telecom CEO, said:

“To be shortlisted for both of these awards is a huge honour for Manx Telecom, and great news as we approach the first anniversary of becoming a fully independent company. It’s a deserved recognition of the success of the AIM flotation last year, and an indicator of the level of awareness of Manx Telecom in the City.”

In its first year as a PLC, Manx Telecom has opened the first phase of its ?10million Greenhill Data Centre project; continued its investment in high speed broadband technology to bring superfast fixed line broadband to 87% of homes and businesses on the Island; and launched the Island’s first 4G superfast mobile broadband network which is now available to pay monthly and pay as you go customers.
