One of Britain’s sporting success stories of 2014 will be the guest of honour at this year’s Isle of Man Sports Awards.
Commonwealth Games and European Championship medallist Jo Pavey will address the event, sponsored by the Isle of Man Bank.
It will be held at the Villa Marina in March.
Jo Pavey’s rise to prominence was one of the feel-good stories of 2014.
The Devon-based athlete returned to the track just months after the birth of her second child to win a bronze medal in the 5,000 metres at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
She then followed that up just 10 days later by becoming European 10,000 metre champion.
In reality, 20 years’ hard work led to Jo becoming an overnight sensation.
Executive Chairman of Isle of Man Sport Gary Corkhill says Jo will make an engaging and inspirational guest.
The awards evening takes place on Thursday, March 26th.
Tuesday 20th, January 2015 06:38pm.
