Hockey big guns flex muscles

There were no surprises on the second weekend of the men’s and women’s premier divisions.
In the men’s league, champions Bacchas A put seven past Ramsey A without reply.
Tom Wilson led the rout with four.
Andy Vernon-Browne, Tom Evans and Jamie Brown grabbed the others.
Valkyrs A put 10 past Saracens A, courtesy of strikes from Gareth Morris (three), Chris Thomas (two), Chris Caldwell, Chris Killey, Jules Colley, Luis Novo-Smith and Russell Miller.
George Powell and Phil Riley scored the goals for Saracens
Vikings A were too strong for Bacchas B with Macklin Wilson, Steven Crowe and Alex Birch seeing them through.
Dave Kneale scored for Bacchas B.
In the Women’s Premier League, champions Vikings A made it two wins out of two with a 6-0 success against Ramsey A – Kim Carney (two), Katie Errock (two), Louise Slater (penalty) and Sarah Breen on target.
Valkyrs A had an impressive 4-1 triumph over Bacchas A, thanks to strikes from Andrea Littlejohns (two), Karmina Kovanda and Becci Pate.
Sosie Cox replied for Bacchas.
Hannah Dixon, Hannah Leece and Ciara Allen grabbed the goals as Castletown A ran out 3-0 winners over Valkyrs B.
