Week eleven of the Bar Logo Ramsey mens darts league saw some big wins and 180's a plenty.
Plough A 6 - 3 Traff
The champions are surely just counting down till it's mathmatically their title again as they strolled past a very good Traff side. Steven Waters started the winning ways with a great win against the form man Alan Kinrade. Then island player Robert Nelson showed why he is rated so highly with 6 ton plus scores including a 180 and a 14 dart leg. So far this year the best man in our league Gazza Uren kept up his hopes of the unbeaten singles run with a hard fight against Jay Radcliffe. Ex-northern champ Charlie Cormode stopped the rot by beating Andrew Hudgeon . James Arneil then made it 4-1 to the hosts as he won an epic match with Trevor Quirk helped by a fine 101 finish and a 21 darter. The most consistant player in the north over recent years Geoff Howland hit a 180 and with 19 & 20 dart legs meant the Plough boys stayed unbeaten this season. Great to see the return of Ollie Webster from injury and along with Gazza they secured a pairs victory. Jay and Alan dealt a blow to the normally all-firing pair of Geoff and Hudgie by taking the last game of the night.
Central 6 - 3 Bar Logo
This had 5-4 written all over it as these two teams battled it out for a shot at second in the league but to be fair there was only one game went to the deciding leg. Robbie Crennell was up first against Jamie J Skillan who seems to be struggling for form in recent weeks and thanks to a 180 by Robbie, Jamie lost out 2-0. David Simpson v Dave Faragher, great game and it's the home boy who came through 2-0. Back come the Logo as Scott Dalton keeps up his rise up the rankings with a good win over Tony Kennish. Mick Antrobus won the only 2-1 game as he defeated Simon Griffin. John Taylor kept up his form and should get a good run in the northern championships next week if he continues, this week it was Lon Chambers who took the beating. Paul Allison is another of the Central boys who could go far next weekend and he made it 4-2 to the home side after he beat David Lee. Mick and Wooka won the match for the Central in what looked like an easy win. Nuts and Simmo helped by a 19dl made it 6-2 before Fags and Scott won the last match for logo to make it look more respectful.
RAOB 2 - 7 Mitre
Glenn Charnock got back to winning ways as did Stu Corlett with yet another 180. Roy Dunlop and Carl Joughin also won for the Mitre to make it 4-2 after the singles. It's not been very often this year the game hasn't already been won by the time the pairs start for the Buffs but thanks to a late transfer by Martin Timoney and an 18 darter plus another good win for Neil Crowe they still had a chance for the win as they headed into the pairs. Indeed it took a deciding leg by Glenn and Carl before they secured the points against father and son pairing of Brandan and Mark Quayle. Stu and Michael Quayle won and the night was topped off with another win by Roy and Harley.
Bar Logo A 7 - 2 Plough B
The Plough boys have had a tough run of luck recently and unfortunately it didn't stop on Tuesday. Jamie Kelly got them off to the best of starts as he beat Andy Evans helped by 5 ton plus scores including a 126 finish and an 18 darter. Ian M Fields leveled the match up and then Paul Arthur helped the Logo take the lead beating Tye Jones. Alan Young played some of the darts we all know he can as he helped stretch the lead. Anthony Collis bagged his first win in the RMDL with a great win over John Verrall and when Mike Jelski beat Geoff Watson it was victory for the Bar Logo outfit. Ian and Aggie won their pairs helped by a 130 finish by Aggie. Jamie and Tye won the second pairs for the Plough boys and Anthony with Mike finished the night on a high for the logo boys.
