Numbers were back up to normal at Onchan on Sunday as club members assembled to shoot a Worcester round as part of the Scratch League. Arrows are shot in groups of five on a black and white target scoring 5 down to 1. The maximum score is 300.
In the Gents compound Pete Mumford dropped only two points to take an easy win over Colin Moore who suffered a miss.
In the Ladies Compound, Joy Gough shot well but was up against Sarah Rigby who recorded a maximum score to take the victory.
The Gents Recurve division saw a four way shoot off between Tony Hartley, Danny Cowin, Rob Lott and Carl Albrigt. Carl shot the round for the first time and suffered a handful of misses. Danny improved on his personal best by one point but it was Tony who took the win by six clear points. Rob Lott secured third place.
Karen Lott was the only Lady Recurve in action. She carried on shooting in the afternoon but did not come anywhere near her Club Record.
The largest field of the day came in the Junior Gents Recurve division. All of those involved suffered misses. Joseph Reaney failed to hit the mark ten times but still improved his pb by 30 points. Both Josh Trafford and Bradley Layton had two misses each but it was Josh who secured the win by ten clear points. Toby Young took third place, while a slightly below par James Hill brought up the rear.
Rhys Moore shot a Portsmouth round using a Compound bow and recorded a respectable 59/529/10. Dave Moore shot a barebow round.
