Douglas’ purple patch in South Lancs/Cheshire Division 1 came to an end in Derbyshire this weekend when they were beaten 18-10 at Glossop.
Douglas made the trip on the back of successive wins but despite tries from Mark McGee and Bryn Snellgrove they were just edged out of the game and finished just outside the range of a losing bonus point.
In South Lancs/Cheshire Division 2 Vagabonds picked up another win on the road when they beat Prenton 18-7.
Matty Williams and the returning Ross Pulman both crossed for Vagas tries with Aidan O’Shea adding one conversion and two penalties.
Only three points separate Vagas from sixth place Ormskirk and the Manx side also have a game in hand.
An early start and a cancelled boat had Ramsey on the back foot from early on Saturday morning with centre Ali Trace having to withdraw from the game when weather cancelled his sailing.

Vagabonds Ladies moved to within a point of table topping Kendal when they just held on to beat Chester Devas 22-17 at Ballafletcher.
Playing with wind behind in the first half they racked up a 17-0 lead courtesy of tries from Lauren Ellison, Rachel Beckley and Dee Gimbert and a conversion from Sammie Macdonald.
Chester pulled one back early in the second half through Lauren Sergeant before Sammie Macdonald put it beyond their reach with a try for Vagas at the other end.
Sabrina McGill picked up a late try for Chester which was converted by Lauren Sergeant to bring them within five, but Vagas were able to cling on for the win.
PDMS Southern Nomads and Douglas B move on in Manx Cup and Plate
Southern Nomads beat Western Vikings 88-12 at QE2 in a game which counted for both the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield and the Manx Cup.
Nomads led 43-0 by half time with tries from Dan Bridle (2), Gerard Landels, Alex Lewthwaite, Tom Duggan (2) and Steve McHugh.
Messrs Landels, McHugh and Lewthwaite all picked up their second after the break with additional tries coming from Ian Hargreaves, Ally Kelly and skipper Bozzer Beaumont.
Vikings did score two deserved consolation tries. One from skipper Kevin Mellor and the other from Sam Peel who also added a conversion.
In the Manx Plate, Douglas B coasted past Emerging Nomads 44-12 at Poulsom Park.
Jack Moore picked up a hat trick for Douglas, Rich Bell got two and there were one apiece for Noel Capewell and Charlie Henthorne.
Jack Moore rounded off a good personal performance by kicking 3 conversions and one penalty.
