Rachael and Gail shine as Manx win team gold

She was the overall women’s winner at Witton Park in Blackburn as the Manx women won team gold, helped by another sterling performance from Gail Griffiths who was seventh overall and Karren Shimmin in 15th.
Griffiths was also the quickest over 45 athlete and won bronze in the women’s veterans class.
Caroline Mayers finished 19th overall and was third in the over 40s category.
Katie Astin was second in the under 17s race.
The men’s team secured a bronze medal with Ollie Lockley the highest placed finisher in fourth overall, assisted by Alan Corlett, Kevin Loundes, Michael Garrett, Ed Gumbley and Stephen Garrett.
Michael Garrett was the second over 45 finisher and claimed bronze in the veterans' class.
Northern AC runner David Mullarkey also took silver in the under 15 boys.
