Southern Nomads are Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield champions for the third time in four years after nearest rivals Douglas B lost 30-15 to last year’s winners Vagabonds B.

Paul Howard and Joe Louw both crossed for first half tries for Vagas to cancel out Jack Fallon and Murray Atcheson’s scores for Douglas.

Johnny Beckley and Alex Long traded kicks with Beckley just edging the contest to give Vagas a 20-15 half-time lead.

In the second half ,Vagas’ Arno Cruywagen and skipper Beckley both added to the tally to seal the game and send the Shield south.

Ramsey B beat Emerging Nomads 41-17 in a dead rubber at Mooragh Park with the result not affecting either side’s league position.

Andy Done, Matt Livesey, Craig Long and Jim Lantry all crossed for Ramsey in the first half with Ben Harding adding two conversions.

Long completed his hat-trick with two more in the second half.

Former Ramsey man Orry Watterson bagged two for Nomads, Andy Joughin one and Rob Martin kicked a conversion.
