Marketing skills course for food and drink producers

Expert advice is on offer in the new year to help Manx food and drink firms market their produce to the world.
A series of workshops led by a professional marketer will help producers understand that effective promotion is key to success.
The course over five weeks is subsidised by the Department of Agriculture and aims to help meet DEFA's target to increase the value of Manx food and drink by ?50 million in the next ten years.
The government launched its Food Matters strategy in the autumn to realise the full economic potential of locally produced food and drink, which according to DEFA minister Richard Ronan 'has remained unexploited for the last 30 years.'
Previous marketing courses have seen small firms gain significant ground, by launching themselves on social media and via attractive, user-friendly websites.
