Good day for top two

by isleofman.com 13th December 2014
It was a good day for the top two in JCK Division Two on Saturday.
Leaders Ramsey Youth Centre bounced back to winning ways with two long-range strikes from Mark McClurg and Mark Faragher sealing a 2-0 home win over Onchan.
Second placed Douglas Athletic put six past Governor’s Athletic, courtesy of man of the match Steve Cowin (four), Matthew Aire and Lewis Howland goals.
Paul Riley had netted the consolation for the bottom side.
After all that, the top two then had the bonus of two of their promotion rivals dropping points.
An Andy Glover penalty earned spirited Malew a draw at home to Marown, who took a first half lead through Kevin Druggan.
And despite a superb fightback at Pulrose, Colby had to settle for a point.
Craig Cowin, Barry English and Ryan Gleaves had put the home side into a seemingly unassailable lead with 25 minutes remaining.
Jack Charmer and Kyle Lunn (two) showed the southerners’ character but they could not grab a winner, missing an injury-time penalty.
Daniel Bedford scored the only goal of the game as Braddan won at Douglas & District.
