Equiom Holdings Limited, the parent company of the Equiom Group, has announced the appointment of Philip Gore-Randall as Non-Executive Chairman.

Philip has extensive experience at a senior level in private and publicly held international organisations. In addition to his role at Equiom, Philip currently serves as Chairman and/or advisor to a number of other international organisations spanning various industries, including professional services, oil services, manufacturing and investment. In particular, he has a large amount of experience working with the private equity industry and in private equity funded businesses.

Philip’s prior non-executive career has included Chairman of ERM, one of the world’s leading international environmental consulting firms, member of the executive committee at Lovells (now Hogan Lovells), a major international law firm, and director at major UK motor insurer, esure. In addition to this he has been a member of the Advisory Council of The Prince’s Trust and a council member of the Confederation of British Industry.

Philip is steeped in professional services. He spent 25 years at Arthur Andersen and was Senior and Managing Partner for their UK practice from 1997 to 2000 before he became the Firm’s Global Chief Operating Officer. Subsequent to Andersen he held executive positions as Chief Operating Officer of Aon UK, the insurance broker, and in late 2007, after the start of the global financial crisis, he joined the Board of HBOS as its Chief Operating Officer.

Equiom Group Managing Director, Sheila Dean, commented on Philip’s appointment: “I welcome Philip as Non-Executive Chairman of Equiom Holdings.  He has an enviable reputation and a vast amount of experience, particularly with ‘private equity’ backed-businesses. He is an invaluable addition to the senior team and will play a key role in Equiom’s growth plans”.

Reflecting on his appointment, Philip commented: “Equiom is a growing business with an ambitious senior management team and a very committed and successful investor.  I’m delighted to become part of the group at a time of major change and expansion and I’m very much looking forward to working with Sheila and the rest of the team”.
