Douglas picked up a useful bonus point win against relegation rivals Ruskin Park on Saturday, eventually running out 29-3 winners at Port-e-Chee.
The win moves Douglas away from the danger zone in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One and up to ninth in the standings.
Lance Wyllie was on target for Douglas with two tries and there were also scores from Glyn Hooson-Owen, Will Latta and Will Cain, with Bryn Snellgrove adding two conversions.
In Division Two, Vagabonds lost 31-12 to leaders Liverpool Collegiate at a wet and windy Ballafletcher.
Vagas went behind early and trailed 12-0 after 20 minutes.
They clawed their way back into the game briefly with the deficit reduced to just seven points at one stage, before Collegiate pulled away in the second half.
Vagabonds Ladies beat Garstang 39-0 to climb to joint top of Womens NC North 1/2 West.
There were two tries apiece for Sophie Henry, Rachel Overman and Lauren Ellison and a single score from Kerry Fisher, with Corrina Daly kicking two conversions.
Their spell at the summit may only be temporary as joint leaders Kendal are due to play on Sunday.
