Nick Corlett and Cal Brown were the winners of Sunday’s Microgaming Off-Road Duathlon at South Barrule.
He took first place in an impressive time of 58 minutes, 37 seconds, but by only the smallest of margins, four seconds ahead of Lloyd Taggart.
Up and coming triathlete, Joseph Ricciardi, showed his all round skill to secure third place.
In the women’s race, Cal Brown was initially challenged by Lisa Dunwell, who unfortunately broke her bike de-railer.
This left Cal clear of the field to take first place in a time of one hour, 16 minutes, 25 seconds.
Seasoned triathlete Joanne Hawkins and Kate Priest completed the top three.
The men’s team event was won by Chris Reynolds and Daniel Curtis from Kevin Loundes and Gianni Epifani with Ben Corkill and Tom Black in third.
Talented youngster Becky Storrie and Karen Shimmin won the women’s team event, with Sally Walker and Liam Mazzone securing victory in the mixed team class.
A field of 50 individuals and 16 teams took part in the event with a three kilometre run, followed by a 15 kilometre cycle around the tracks of South Barrule, before another 3km run.
