Corinthians put on gr-eight showing

by isleofman.com 1st December 2014
Corinthians showed their arch rivals no mercy in the fifth round of group matches in the Warehouse Fitness Floodlit Cup.
In the Ballafletcher derby, the cup holders went on the rampage with an 8-0 thrashing of league champions Douglas Royal.
Hat-tricks from Melissa Bell and Lisa Costain and one each from Kiera Morgan and Sarah Kerford secured a comfortable afternoon for the holders.
In the early kick-off, Peel drew 1-1 against Gymns.
The westerners took a first half lead via a Natalie Swales effort, however, the Tromode outfit levelled matters in the second half courtesy of an Eleanor Gawne free-kick.
All four teams in action yesterday have qualified for this season’s semi-finals.
