Week nine of the Ablec electrical Ramsey mens darts league
Central 4 - 5 Traff
The Traff took the spoils and remain in the hunt. The oldies Stu Christian and Charlie Cormode got the Traff off to a great start as they defeated Lon Chambers and Mick Antrobus respectively. Tony Kennish won the third game to bring the Central back into it as he beat Jay Radcliffe. The Traff then took control, or so they thought, as Alan Kinrade ( 180 ) and John Piekalns made it 4-1 but the Central are made of stern stuff and Robbie Crennell made sure the match would go to the pairs.
The "Paul's", Allison and Routledge, beat Stu and Charlie and it was certainly a nervous time when Lon and Dave Simpson then made it 4-4.
Last game and it was Robbie and Mick taking on Busbie and Jay. This one even went to the deciding leg but it was the Traff pairing who just pipped it.
RAOB 2 - 7 Bar Logo
This was always going to be a tough ask as the Logo boys are a quality outfit and they stormed into a 3-0 lead thanks to John Taylor, Martin Timoney and Chris Clague.
One of the shocks of the season maybe? As Neil Crowe took out top 10 man Jamie Skillan 2-0 helped by a 20 darter.
Simon Griffin then had a scare against Mark Quayle before Scott Dalton made the match safe.
Bingo and Jt plus Simon and Chris then made it 7-1 before another shock as Mark and Darren Hadley took down Dave Faragher and Scott.
Bar logo AAA 2 - 7 Plough B
Well I certainly got this one wrong as the Plough boys finally showed us what we have all been waiting for as they took out the champs from two years ago.
Tye Jones and Mac MacDonald both winning without losing a leg.
Alex Doddrell then brought the AAA back into it by beating Jamie Leech. Another shock on the night of shocks was Nathan Walker taking down Jay Smith. This win was backed up by Jamie Kelly and Dan Callow taking the win for the match.
Dodders and Simon MacCuish took a win against Dan and Tye before itwas business as usual with Mac and Jamie winning helped by a 19 darter and Geoff Watson and Jason Byrne finished off the night.
Bar Logo 7 - 2 Mitre
If you were to look at the result sheet but had witnessed this match you would swear they were different games.
Logo took a 4-0 lead without losing a leg and the Mitre hit just one ton in those four matches but first on Roy Dunlop should have beat Paul Arthur only problem he had was hitting the vital doubles. Harley Christian delayed the match with a fine win over Conall Hughes. This was the first time I've had the chance to watch the newcomer and he is certainly a man for the future with a lovely smooth throwing action.
Game of the night as Andy Evans has to take out 114 finish just to keep this match going as Stu Corlett was in fine form hitting the lipstick with ease but Andy took it 2-1 and the match.
Barry Sharpe and Conall beat Harley and Carl before Alan Young and Andy beat an on-fire Roy Dunlop and Michael Quayle, Roy hit 6 ton plus scores in the pairs game alone before Stu and Glenn Charnock defeat Ian Fields and Aggie.
Seventeen teams will fight it out over the next two weeks at the Plough for the title of 3-a-side winner. This will be followed the following week by the annual Christmas singles at the RAOB.
