Fire and Rescue Service receives Best Turned Out awards for Tynwald Day 2014

The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has been awarded Best Turned Out Unit on parade at the 2014 Tynwald Day ceremony and the service’s Keith Moore Best Turned Out Individual.

In recognition, the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service received a ?50 donation to the Firefighters’ Charity (IOM), a certificate signed by the President of Tynwald, the Hon Clare Christian, and an engraved plaque, with Mr Moore also receiving a certificate and plaque.

Sub-officer Justin McMullin, a member of the Tynwald Day contingent, said it had been ‘a privilege’ to have participated in the Island’s National Day celebrations.

Presenting the awards the President said: ‘On Tynwald Day everyone makes a great effort. I congratulate the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service on their achievement and for adding to the ceremony, pageantry and tradition which are so much part of our National Day.’

The presentations concluded, the officers enjoyed a tour of the Tynwald Chambers led by Mrs Christian.
