Ramsey Men's Dart League Report

by isleofman.com 21st November 2014

Week eight of the Ablec Electrical sponsored Ramsey mens darts league saw four different result scores and the Plough A showing their steel.

Mitre 4 - 5 Bar Logo AAA

The Mitre continue to be the most inconsistent team in the league this year and showed it again on Tuesday losing out to second bottom AAA.

Roy Dunlop hit 6 ton scores but only won his pairs game as Mark Brawls 4 tons shows he is a man to watch defeating Roy. Glenn Charnock was back to his best as he defeated Chris Higgins and Carl Joughin was back to winning ways and Stu Corlett keeps up his rise up the singles stats. The AAA boys needed this and boy have they deserved it. Jimmy Mac and Ross Walker got them off to a dream start but at 4-3 down they needed both remaining pairs and thanks to Ross and Jay Smith the win was still a possibility as they levelled it at 4-4. Jimmy and Higgy secured the win with a fine 2-0 victory.

Traff 8 - 1 RAOB

The buff boys had something to celebrate on Tuesday night as Mark Quayle took himself off the bottom of the individual stats with a victory over Stevie Radcliffe but that's as far as the celebrations went.

The Traff are a good bet for trophies this year as John Piekalns, Alan Kinrade and Jay Radcliffe (101 finish) put them 3-0 and then the old timers Stu Christian and Charlie Cormode sealed the victory before the pairs started.

Bar Logo 3 - 6 Bar Logo A

Great night and a joy to witness three ton plus finishes in four legs of darts. It was only a wire away from four in four as Alan Young missed the double for a 138 finish in his and Paul Arthur's pairs victory. Ian Fields hit firstly 105 and then 106 to secure both the match and the Paul Wheeler sponsored highest finish prize. This was then followed by Dave Faragher hitting his double for a 104 finish.

Paul Arthur got the A team off to a flier as he overcame a tough game against David Lee but the A team then fell 2-1 down thanks to a great win by John Taylor over Alan Young and then Dave Faragher over Mike Jelski, Mike very nearly taking it as it was all down to who hit the double first.

Back came the A team as Barry 'Razor' Sharpe (5 tons) levelled it up. Scott Dalton then gave the Bar Logo the lead yet again with a good win over Conall Hughes. Last in the singles but not least was a fine match up between Jamie Skillan v Ian Fields but thanks to his power scoring Ian won to again level up the game. The game looked as though it would go down to the wire but thanks to a somewhat surprise victory by Mike and Con against Bingo and Simon Griffin the game swayed into the favour of the A team.

Then the tele darts started that I mentioned at the start thanks to Gracie and Sharpie winning the match.

Plough A 7 - 2 Central

The Plough are in fantastic form and this continued on Tuesday as they flew into a 4-0 lead against a very capable Central outfit. Paul Palmer (5 tons), Stevie Waters (5 tons), Andy Hudgeon and Gazza Uren (4 tons) showing just how strong they are as they took out the majoriy of the Centrals defences.

Paul Allison (6 tons) turned back time with a great win over Jamie Arneil but Geoff Howland (9 tons) secured the match win defeating Robbie Crennell.

It has to be mentioned Gazza Uren in his pairs victory with Geoff was the first man this year to win all four of his legs in 21 darts or less ( 21,20,19,18 ) great darts mate.

Mick Antrobus and Dave Simpson took the Centrals second victory as they defeated Hudgie and Geordie before Palmer and Ollie Webster beat Tony Kennish and Robbie.

Next week is our last league game of the year. The Plough sponsored 3-a-side will then be over the following two weeks. Differnt from previous years as the whole comp will be played in the Plough so please note entries will close at 8.15 and the comp will start at 8.30.

With the last darting action of the year being the annual Christmas singles sponsored by the RAOB.
