In this tournament prizes were presented on court at the conclusion of the final by Club President, Bryan Sharp as the club is already scheduled to be busy with the Celebration of the new courts (see below). The other events will be concluded by Friday.

Members are requested to be at the club by 3.30 on Saturday – HE Lt Gov. Adam Wood will arrive at 3.45pm and go on court at 4pm.  A champagne cocktail buffet will follow.  Any guests may bring racquets and have a game.  Dress is smart casual or tracksuits.  Please use your “prayer mats” and pray for good weather or cross your fingers.  Wet weather arrangements are in place.

Junior member, Sean Drewry (16) from Sulby was away during half-term gaining more match experience. In a Matchplay event at Rok Centre he beat A Blacklock 4/1 4/1 and won 5/4(5) 5/3  v E Walker. In a Grade 4 event at the Chesterfield tennis Club his results were q/final bt O Shalidullah 4/0/4/0, s/final bt Ross Edgar 4/1 4/1 (12-10). Sean lost in the final, to the No 1 seed John Heppell  1/4 1/4 . Sean does travel quite often to the UK to compete – maybe a company would like to sponsor him and help with the travel expenses. Members who wish to have their names entered in next year’s Wimbledon ticket ballot, must have a British Tennis Member’s number AND OPT INTO the ballot.

All BTM members will receive an e-mail explaining all this from 24 November. Any Albany member who doesn’t yet have a BTM no. can enrol on the LTA website. The club’s allocation of tickets will be based on the number of members who have and everyone joining by 31 January 2015.
