Microgaming plays corporate social responsibility forward

by isleofman.com 20th November 2014
Microgaming has created a brand-new identity for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Microgaming PlayItForward is the official name for Microgaming’s extensive CSR programme. It encompasses all aspects of the award-winning technology company’s activities in health, sport, education, charity and community. This includes initiatives such as its ambassador programme, backing of local sports teams and sporting events, and the recently launched education bursaries scheme.

The well-established Microgaming Health & Care Trust will also reside under the PlayItForward umbrella, but it will remain an independent body, continuing its remit to provide support to Manx-registered charities and local health or social care projects. Founded in 2002, the Trust is the perfect example of Microgaming’s support for the local community, having contributed over ?800,000 to date, enabling over 90 donations to be made locally.

Microgaming’s CSR programme is growing, and as Microgaming supports more events, organisations, charities and individuals, PlayItForward is expected to establish itself as a powerful force for social good both at home and further afield.

Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming, comments: “We’ve been supporting our local community for over a decade, but we’ve often done so in the shadows.

“Stepping into the spotlight, Microgaming PlayItForward will allow us to combine all of our efforts and resources for the greater good. As public awareness increases, so too will opportunities to provide help where it is needed the most, which is exactly why we consolidated our CSR practices into a single identity. The Isle of Man is our home and we are only too happy to give something back.”

More information about the initiative can be found on the Microgaming PlayItForward website.
