Summit hears plea to bolster e-gaming's reputation

The latest issues facing the e gaming world have been debated at a major industry summit in Douglas.
The event hosted by Island firm KPMG at the Villa Marina on Tuesday (11 Nov) drew scores of delegates from on and off-Island to hear an international slate of speakers.
Topics ranged from the prospects for digital currency payments to the new UK point of consumption gaming tax.
In the day's opening talk, Italian gaming lawyer Quirino Mancini tackled a subject less keenly talked about in the industry: gambling addiction.
He outlined the unwelcome press coverage the issue had triggered in his country - and the consequent negative impact on the industry's repuation.
Partner at SCM Lawyers Mr Mancini gave an impassioned presentation, urging gaming operators to do more to reverse this.
He told Marian Kenny how e gaming is viewed in his country:
