Isle of Man Archery Club Report 9th November

by isleofman.com 11th November 2014

The IoM Archery Club met on Sunday to shoot a WA18 round as part of the Club’s Scratch League. It was nice to see Aalin George and Sarah Rigby back in action again after a break due to work commitments.

In the Gent’s Recurve division Tony Hartley took an easy victory but was somewhat down on his best. Rhys Moore still seemed to be struggling with his form but Rob Lott was able to add 45 points to his personal best to take second place.

In the Ladies Recurve, Karen Lott had a couple of wobbles but her score gave her first place by some margin, and was in fact the highest recurve score of the day.

The Gent’s Compound provided the closest run competition of the day, with only 11 points separating first and last place. Pete Mumford secured victory this week only two points ahead of Dave Moore who suffered a miss. Colin Moore had to be content with third.

In the Ladies Compound, Aalin George romped home almost twenty points ahead of her nearest rival Sarah Rigby. Joy Gough had an uncharacteristic miss and finished third.

In the afternoon session the Juniors shot a Portsmouth round. Charlotte Harris returning after illness added 9 points to her pb for the round. Josh Trafford was just a handful of points short of his best. Joseph Reaney and James Hill were both a little off form.
