Ramsey Men's Dart League Report

by isleofman.com 7th November 2014
Results from week six of the Ablec electrical sponsored Ramsey men's darts league.

Plough A 5 - 4 Bar Logo A

What a game the Plough had on offer this week as the two much fancied teams for the league title went up against each other. The 5-4 to be fair could have gone either way with most games going down to who hit the double first as you would expect them all to be close matches.

Gazza ' the double' Uren got the Plough boys off and running with a fine win against Barry Sharpe in what was a fantastic game 7 tons between them in two legs.

Bar Logo then took the lead thanks to good wins by Andy Evans and Paul Arthur over Stevie Waters and Andy Hudgeon respectively.
Back comes the Plough A and themselves took the lead in the match for the second time thanks to great wins by Geoff 'the treble' Howland and Robbie Nelson over Alan Young and Paul 'Chap' Kelly indeed Robbie hitting 3 x 100, 134 & 2 x 140 in just his singles game.

Last on in the singles was Paul Palmer v Ian Fields and it was Ian who came through 2-0 to make the match 3-3 going into the pairs.
First blood the Plough as Robbie and Paul won an epic game against Sharpie and Ian. Andy and Chap made sure this one went down to the wire as they beat Geordie and Jamie.

Geoff and Gazza v Aggie and Alan . Alan missed three darts at d8,4 and 2 before the Plough boys took the first leg. Geoff then started leg two with a 180 and it looked all over but they dragged it back and with Aggie sitting waiting on d18 Geoff took out d1 to win the game and the match.

Traff 6 - 3 Bar Logo AAA

Thanks to this fine win the Traff boys move up to third in the table and with the likes of Alan Kinrade also moving himself up to second in the individual stats, John Piekalns and the Radcliffe brothers on form it's no wonder they have rose up quietly into that spot but it was the triple A outfit who took the lead when Simon McCuish defeated Charlie Cormode. The Traff then went on great run with above mentioned four boys all winning to make it 4-1 Jay Smith is also in fine form and he won his singles match up to prolong the match into the pairs.

That for the Logo boys was as close as they got though as Jay Radcliffe and Busbie closed out another win.

Bar Logo 6 - 3 Plough B

I have been given some stick this week as I continue to predict the Logo team to lose to their opponents and they continue to prove me wrong. This week I just thought the miss Plough boys would clear their throats and hit them hard. Jamie Kelly did and Mac MacDonald had a great 3 legger with John Taylor but it was JT who won.

Infact the Bar Logo side who I have been seen to say have a great squad of players and can beat anyone as they are proved at the Logo by having the game done and dusted 5-0. Simon Griffin has now found his legs in our league and another first on win helped by a fine win for Dave Lee against John Verrall this was then followed by ex Plough man Dave Faragher defeating Jamie Leech.

The Logo weren't finished just yet as they went for he jugular as Jamie Skillen took down Tye Jones.

Jamie Kelly deafeated Scotty Dalton to save some face with a fine 115 finish to take the Paul Wheeler sponsored weekly highest finish prize.

Jay Byrne and John Verrall then win the first pairs game to make it 5-2 and with Mac and Jamie on next you'd be a brave man to bet against another win for the Plough pairing but JT is firing on all cylinders this campaign and Jamie Skillan is good enough to beat anyone in our league so they took the win.

Central 8 - 1 RAOB

It's really hard to see the RAOB lads winning a game this year what with all the other teams so so strong but you can't knock them they field a team each week and enjoy their darts.

Their hero's this week were the father and son pairing of Neil and James Crowe who beat Tony Kennish and Robbie Crennell.

Simmo, Mick, Wooka, Malla, Nuts all adding to their impressive stats so far this year and Paul Routledge who I maybe wrong but takes both his games for the first time this year this big win follows on from their great win last week and moves them up to second.

The league is that close this year the Central were sat 8th only a few short weeks ago.

Brandan Quayle wins another leg in his first year and also his first ton score. The first win is not far away.
