Elsewhere, in the Warehouse Fitness sponsored competition, five time winners Douglas Royal got their campaign off to a winning start with an 8-3 victory against Old Boys.
After a close first half, the league champions finished comprehensive winners, thanks to hat-tricks from Donna Shimmin and Becci Pate and a brace from Rebecca Cole.
Hannah Swan, Ceri Purvis and Carla Flynn netted for battling Old Boys.
Meanwhile, Peel were 6-0 winners against Colby.
A five goal first half blitz meant the match was all but over early on - Maxine Smalley (three), Natalie Swales (two) and Vanessa Christian scored for the westerners.
