The Junior Chamber of Commerce (“JCC”) is pleased to announce that it is working with the UK Business Angels Association for its next event on Tuesday 11 November 2014. This will be a unique and exciting opportunity to hear Jenny Tooth, CEO of the UK Business Angels Association, present at The Sefton Hotel.
The UK Business Angels Association is the national trade association representing angel and early stage investment in the UK. Each year private investors account for between ?800 million and ?1 billion of early stage investment in the UK; the single largest source of early stage capital in the UK.
Jenny Tooth has been CEO of the UK Business Angels Association since July 2012 and has been providing strategic support to UKBAA since its establishment in 2004, supporting both policy and interfacing with Government, as well as developing the trade body’s major annual events. She has also been a frequent judge at business plan competitions (Dragons Den without the cameras) and acted as an assessor for the Technology Strategy Board for innovation grant applications.
Jenny’s presentation will cover the role of UKBAA and an overview of the Angel Market in the key areas, including what are the key developments, what does this mean for business and economic growth in the North West and specifically the Isle of Man, and how to further develop the angel market in this region including opportunities and challenges.
“This is set to be a fantastic event,” said Kate Parrish, chairman of the JCC. “It’s exciting that Jenny has come over to the Isle of Man to share her many experiences of supporting SMEs access to investment, both in the UK and internationally. I’m sure everyone will enjoy listening to Jenny and benefit from attending the presentation.”
