The IoM Archery Club met on Sunday at Onchan to shoot a Worcester as part of the Club’s Scratch League. The Worcester comprises 60 arrows, shot in groups of 5, at a black and white target scoring from 5 down to 1.

The Gents Compound competition between Colin Moore, Pete Mumford and Dave Moore turned out to be a rather one sided affair, with Pete Mumford being the only one to find the target with all of his arrows. Dave Moore missed the mark twice and Colin failed to score four times. Pete Mumford dropped only four points out of a possible 300 to take an easy win.

Joy Gough was once again left without direct competition but put in a solid score of 287.

Karen Lott and Barbara Harris faced off in the Ladies Recurve division with Lott taking the honours. Karen carried on into the afternoon to shoot a Double Worcester. The score she recorded smashed the Club Record she set last season by 27 points.

There was a good turnout by the Junior archers, with six of them displaying their skills. Josh Trafford led the way adding 45 to his personal best for the round and taking the win into the bargain. He was not the only one to improve however, Toby Young added 70 to his pb, James Hill added 27 to his and Joseph Reaney added 43 to his pb for the round. Jack Tyrer faded badly over the last ten arrows and fell just short of his personal best. Charlotte Harris the only Junior Lady started slowly but settled down to record a respectable score of 252. Josh Trafford shot all day to set a New Club Record for the Junior Gents Double Worcester round.

In the Gents Recurve division the win went to Tony Hartley. Danny Cowin added 6 points to his pb for the round to finish only 7 points behind. Rob Lott equalled his pb to take last place on the podium.
