by isleofman.com 21st October 2014

Grant Thornton has been named global 'Employer of the Year' by the International Accounting Bulletin.

The award was judged by an independent panel and was based on Grant Thornton’s “strong commitment to its employees, secondment programmes, and focus on quality.”

The judges cited “Grant Thornton’s Advanced Manager Programme, the Leadership Foundation programme (which helps staff develop into better leaders), and the Grant Thornton global talent mobility programme, which has so far supported more than 320 secondments across the network”.

Dennis McGurgan, Managing Director of Grant Thornton in the Isle of Man, said: ‘It is an honour to receive an award which recognises the strength of the internal training programmes at Grant Thornton and the opportunities the business offers internationally through our global talent mobility programme.

‘Grant Thornton is strongly committed to supporting the growth and development of employees across the global organisation, including here in the Isle of Man, as it is central to the ongoing growth and success of our office and the entire business.

‘Speaking on a personal basis, I believe it is my colleagues here in the Island and across the globe which make Grant Thornton such a great place to work.’
