The Isle of Man Funds Association, in partnership with the Isle of Man Government’s Department of Economic Development, will once again support the Hedge Fund Start-up Forum, an annual leading industry event that targets new ‘start-up’ investment funds and fund managers.

As sponsors of the event being held in Zurich on 22nd October 2014, Paul Kneen, Chairman of the Isle of Man Funds Association and Chief Executive Officer of leading fund administration specialists, the Abacus Financial Services Group, will join like-minded industry professionals as a panel speaker during the first session, ‘Launching a new Hedge Fund: Refining a Strategy and Raising Assets’.

Paul Kneen said: “The Isle of Man Funds Association has supported a number of Hedge Fund Start-up Forums over recent years due to its informative and valuable content regarding the start-up funds environment. The event also provides an ideal networking platform for meeting new and existing contacts, to which we will promote the benefits of using the Isle of Man and to discuss the various options available there.

“The Isle of Man is a leading international finance centre with a sound reputation for its robust yet flexible regulatory system and cost effective solutions. The Island’s fund sector is supported by experienced and knowledgeable professionals ranging from advisory, legal, banking and administration service providers to funds and fund managers. Many of these are members of the Isle of Man Funds Association, who work closely with the Isle of Man Government for the promotion of the Island’s fund industry.”

Over 100 start-up and emerging hedge fund managers are expected to attend the one day conference, which is recognised as a forum for information and meeting contacts required by those starting a fund, as well as investors into these funds.

The agenda provides those looking to start a Hedge Fund with an in depth guide to setting up a fund and gaining investment, and discusses key topics including; launching a fund, marketing funds, attracting investment, compliance and regulations and operational efficiencies.
