Douglas delivered a bonus point 37-16 win against Anselmians in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One to end their recent drought.

A Simon Mason penalty gave the visitors the early lead, and when Sam Bryan crossed for a try which Mason converted, Douglas were 10-0 adrift.

Craig Lea and Cal Randle both picked up tries to haul Douglas back into the game and with Bryn Snellgrove and Mason trading kicks, the game turned around with Anselmians a point ahead at 13-12.

In the second, Mason and Snellgrove continued their penalty duel before Lance Wyllie ran in a try which pushed Douglas clear.

Wyllie picked up a second as Anselmians pushed forward and Scott Goodall picked another off right at the end when the game was all but over.

Vagabonds’ bubble of form in Division Two finally burst when they lost 25-17 away at Southport.

Vagas led 7-5 at half-time and went into the closing stages leading narrowly.

However, two late Southport tries denied them even a losing bonus point.

Joe Louw and Ross Pulman both scored tries for Vagas with Lucas Veradi adding two conversions and a penalty.

A 30-27 bonus point win away at Linley & Kidsgrove kept Ramsey in pole position at the top of the pile in Cheshire Division Three.

Ramsey trailed 22-13 at one stage but clawed their way back to keep their seven point lead in the standings.

Peter Richardson bagged a brace for Ramsey and there were also tries from Scott Kneale and Ali Trace, with youngster Kneale kicking two penalties and two conversions.
