Appleby (Isle of Man) LLC Partner Mark Holligon has been highly praised alongside his global colleagues in an independent assessment of international lawyers and legal firms.
The 2014 edition of Who’s Who Legal 100 named leading offshore firm Appleby as Firm of the Year in the asset recovery sector, describing the company’s asset recovery practice as “of the very highest standard”.
The publication names Mark among the legal practitioners who stand out worldwide, reporting clients say he “really knows his stuff” and they “wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him”.
Mark is a Partner in the Litigation and Insolvency department, advising clients on commercial litigation, insolvency and restructuring.
Who's Who Legal 100 evaluates the world's top law firms using research into the global business law marketplace, including interviews, votes and recommendations from leading lawyers and their clients in over 140 jurisdictions. This year’s research featured eight Appleby lawyers in the practice group (including among others, John Wasty, Andrew Bolton, Andrew Willins, and Fraser Robertson) from five of the Appleby’s offices, including Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman, Isle of Man and Jersey. All told, 33 lawyers from across 10 practices were recognised in the latest edition of Who’s Who Legal 100.
The publication recognised that in 2014 Appleby aims to strengthen and further its reputation as one of the world’s premier offshore firms. The firm has also continued to expand its presence in the global market, this year announcing that it is the first and only offshore law firm to gain a legal licence to practise offshore law in Mainland China. Who’s Who Legal also noted that Appleby continues to provide a first-rate service to its clients through a recruitment policy which attracts and nurtures the best talent.
