Gymns off the mark

by isleofman.com 13th October 2014
FA Cup holders Gymns secured their first win of the season in the Warehouse Fitness Women’s League with a 9-1 victory over Old Boys on Sunday.
And there was no doubting the star of the show.
Alannah Hall hit four of the goals for the Tromode side in the romp.
She was joined on the scoresheet by fellow Island international Gillian Christian (two), Kayleigh Whitehead, Rhiannon Brew and Eleanor Gawne.
This was all after Old Boys took a surprise lead through the in-form Helen Cooper.
Peel registered the biggest win of the day with a 14-1 win over Castletown.
The westerners, who hit seven in each half, had their own scoring heroes.
Sarah Wignall hit four and there were hat-tricks for Vanessa Christian and Becky Corkish.
Maxine Smalley, Natalie Swales, Lisa Pugh and Kayleigh Greggor netted the others.
The match involving leaders Corinthians and Colby was postponed as Colby couldn’t field a team.
