The Claremont has announced the installation of a dedicated super-fast 100Mbps internet line which has resulted in the 4-star Silver hotel’s becoming the fastest hotel Wi-Fi network on the Island, and possibly the entire North West of England.
The upgrade, installed by local network and hosting solutions provider Wi-Manx, means both hotel guests and local businesses using the executive lounge and meeting facilities will enjoy up to 1Gbps Wi-Fi access each at any given time, and at no additional charge.
Managing Director of Wi-Manx, Joe Hughes stated: “The importance of complimentary hotel internet access cannot be understated. Business travellers rely on robust and reliable hotel Wi-Fi for remote working, VPN, video conferencing and using Skype to talk to their families and colleagues – not forgetting other mediums such as Netflix and similar entertainment services. These requirements put an ever increasing strain on a hotel’s internet connection.”
Mr Hughes continued: “The Claremont management simply wanted to ensure the best possible internet service was available for their guests. Faced with the challenge, Wi-Manx have provided the hotel with a high-speed, 100Mbps internet service which undoubtedly means the Claremont has the fastest and most reliable guest internet access of any hotel in the Isle of Man, if not the North West.”
Mark Wilson, Managing Director of the Claremont, also commented: “Over the past two years significant private investment in both our facilities and team has resulted in the Claremont becoming the destination of choice for the discerning traveller and the venue of choice for a number of major Island conferences. However, rather than choose to sit back and consolidate our position, we understand the importance of paying attention to the details and of consistently reinvesting in our visitor and delegate experience. One such crucial detail is internet access. We cannot underestimate the importance of reliable and high-speed connectivity to today’s business traveller. In today’s business environment, high speed internet is neither a luxury, nor an extra. It is an absolute necessity for those staying in hotels, attending conferences, or holding local meetings. We are delighted with our investment, which we know will provide a further contribution to the Island’s increasing reputation as a place to do business.”
