IMGold sponsor Pole Vault and High Jump Open

by isleofman.com 25th September 2014

Isle of Man based firm IMGold have pledged to help local athletes go up in the world as the headline sponsor for the Island’s first Pole Vault and High Jump Open meeting.

Action gets underway at the NSC Athletics Arena at 5.00pm on Wednesday 1st October in what will be the last competition of the 2014 track and field season.  It gives many of the Island’s young and older athletes a very last chance to post personal bests, season’s bests and maybe even a Manx record before exiting their current age group!

The competition is open to both club members and non club members and entry forms can be downloaded from www.iomaa.info or just turn up on the night.  Registration opens at 4.45pm at the NSC grandstand.  Pole vault entrants must have prior experience or training in the event to enter.

Athletics Development Officer Trevor Christian said, “The competition was initially to be just a small event for our pole vault training group but when IMGold were confirmed as the event sponsor we were able to open the meeting up to all comers.  It has been an absolute pleasure to see the NSC pole vault equipment being used so much in the last 12 months, after decades of it gathering dust.  I can’t thank IMGold enough for sponsoring the competition and also IOM Sport and the management of the NSC who have been pivotal partners in reviving pole vault on the Island.”
