by isleofman.com 22nd September 2014
Richard Gerrard sealed a double by winning yesterday’s Ramsey Bakery End to End Walk.
In excellent conditions, he added the title to his Parish Walk success earlier this summer, completing the Point of Ayre to the Sound route in a time of six hours, 29 minutes and 23 seconds.
That was quarter of an hour ahead of second placed David Mapp who was almost 20 minutes clear of third man home David Walker.
Michelle Turner was the first woman finisher and a fine fourth overall in a time of seven hours, six minutes and 32 seconds.
Karen Chiarello and Karen Lawrie completed the top three women.
Matthew Haddock was the leading senior man, Ewa Kowalewska the first senior woman, Myles Rouse the winner of the under 20 men’s race to Peel and Lisa Collister the under 20 women’s winner.
