The Island’s largest Corporate Financial Adviser & Professional Broker has announced a key restructuring of its executive team.
Nigel Gregg has been promoted to Group Managing Director and Jon McGowan to Group Chief Executive. These changes reflect the group’s focus on growing its business, including potential acquisitions. Commenting on the changes, Jon McGowan said: “Nigel’s promotion is a direct result of his fantastic contribution since he joined the group in 2007. As my own role as CEO becomes more focused on strategy for the group, including acquisitions both on and off the Island, Nigel will take further control of the day to day management and operations across the group. This will include absorbing the senior management responsibilities for MAC Commercial, our insurance broking business, which has been subject to a recent internal review.”
Commenting on his promotion, Nigel said: “I am proud to have been part of MAC’s development since I joined Jon and his team. We have achieved significant milestones that have seen the MAC Group go from strength to strength as one of the Isle of Man’s leading financial services groups. We have risen to the challenges of ‘RDR’ within our advisory business and have ambitious plans for our future, both locally and internationally. This will include our commercial insurance business, which I am now taking charge of with a view to growing it as successfully as our IFA business. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our corporate and private clients for the contribution they have made to the MAC Group’s development over the years.”
Jon concluded: “MAC is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2014 and we are holding an event for our current staff and partners to recognise the outstanding contribution they have made to MAC’s success. Part of our “Project 10” review allowed us to look back and see what we had achieved in the last 10 years and it’s definitely given us an appetite to expand the business where we feel it is appropriate to do so. There are opportunities out there which we are very well placed to seize.”
