Panacea to attend CPhI Worldwide pharma exhibition

by isleofman.com 16th September 2014

Douglas-based pharmaceutical consultancy company Panacea will be represented at CPhI Worldwide, the most prestigious international exhibition for the pharma sector. The event – which is being held at Paris Nord Villepinte, France, from October 7th to 9th – attracts 30,000 senior pharma professionals from more than 140 countries and provides a unique opportunity to get a detailed understanding of the latest industry developments, and market news via a number of seminars and briefings. In total, there will be 2,200 exhibitors in 20 specialist sectors of the pharma industry, covering APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients), excipients, finished formulations, contract services, packaging, machinery and more. CPhl is also the ideal event to network and meet representatives from companies based in established markets – including China, India and the USA – and emerging markets such as Turkey, Russia and Malaysia.

The Panacea team will attend on October 7th and 8th  – the third year in succession that the company has been represented at the exhibition. Panacea founder Stuart Colligon will be joined by Technical Director Dan McKay, Senior QPPV Sally Francis, and Client Development and Corporate Communications specialist Sam Tipper. Mr McKay commented:

“Attending CPhI Worldwide is essential for all leading pharma businesses, so it’s vital that we are represented. At Panacea we believe we can show clients a better way, and CPhI allows us to take this message to a global audience of all the key players in the industry. In terms of networking opportunities, it’s the most important event on the pharma calendar. CPhI is also an opportunity for us to highlight the many advantages which the Isle of Man can offer in this sector, and to promote the Island’s biomed cluster in general.”

Panacea provides services for pharmaceutical companies to ensure they comply with pharmacovigilance legislation and that the safety profiles of their products are monitored to minimise patient risk from adverse effects. This involves collecting, monitoring, researching, assessing and evaluating information from regulatory authorities, healthcare providers and patients on the adverse effects of medications to ensure that the risk to patients of drugs on the market are minimised, and to identify any new risks associated with the medication. Panacea also offers regulatory affairs, medical device, veterinary vigilance and other supporting services to the pharmaceutical industry.

The business was founded in 2008 and has its headquarters at Middle River Industrial Estate in Douglas. The company has an experienced and knowledgeable senior management team which includes two QPPVs (Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance) who are supported by a regulatory department, and a pharmacovigilance department comprising a Head of Pharmacovigilance, a Safety Physician, two managers, one PV specialist, seven PV assistants, and an administrator. The Panacea team is completed by a Head of Quality and a Quality Specialist, together with a further two professionals who focus on client support and client development/corporate communications.
