Island golfers put up creditable showings in tournaments at Woodhall Spa.
Isle of Man junior champion Robert Noon and current senior champion Peter Glover were competing in their respective Champion of Champions tournaments at the testing Hotchin course at the headquarters of England Golf.

Playing 36 holes on Saturday, Noon had a first round 77 on the par 73 before an impressive level par second round gave him a total of 150.

That placed him in sixth place from the 30 other county junior champions.

The winner was Billy Watson (Hampshire, IoW and Channel Islands) with a total of 142.

Yesterday (Sunday), Peter Glover was amongst the entry of 24 other county champions invited by England Golf.

After notching a superb one under par 72, he was the leader after round one, by virtue of the best back nine from three others also on 72 gross.

A second round of 76 saw him also finish in sixth place on a total of 148.

The Champion of Champions winner in this section was Mark Collins from Kent with 141 after a four under par 69 second round.
