Hamblin Employment Group, the Island’s largest recruitment, training and HR consultancy, has announced the launch of a twin series of training courses designed to help uninitiated and advanced professionals gain an insight into the contentious and fascinating world of cryptocurrencies.
Due to take place at The Forum, Douglas on Tuesday 14th October, 2014, the series consists of a basic and advanced course each delivered by a team of crypto currency experts, and offers a certificate of completion which contributes to delegates’ CPD portfolios.
Crypto Currencies 101, an introduction which takes place from 9:30 to 11:30am, will furnish delegates with a definition of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies followed by a brief history of the concept and an overview of digital wallets, hot and cold storage, anonymity, security and costs. The course will also tackle investment versus use, the criminal use of digital currency and system participants to the global crypto currency network.
Crypto Currencies 102, which takes place from 14:00 to 16:00 pm, takes delegates to an advanced level, and deals with speculation, investment and derivative trading, theft, losses and hacking, taxation, prohibitions and restrictions, regulation and interference. The advanced section will also tackle such issues as money laundering, terrorist financing and the Dark Market. Finally, and of particular interest to local businesspersons, Crypto Currencies 102 will also introduce the Isle of Man’s unique crypto currency proposition and a ‘how to get involved’ section for retailers and local businesses.
Commenting on the announcement, Managing Director Emma Allard said: “For the most part, business’ reluctance and anxiety when engaging this remarkable technology can simply be put down to misunderstanding. This is, of course, understandable: crypto currencies can be complex, are plagued with news stories that can obscure their potential, and are likely to have an unprecedented impact on global business. It’s for this reason that Hamblin decided to create this training series. We want to furnish local business people with the knowledge and foundations to explore this opportunity with confidence, and on their own terms. It’s another step in the right direction for the Isle of Man’s crypto currency community, and for Island business as a whole.”
