More power for OFT call from Liberal Vannin

by isleofman.com 11th September 2014
The Office of Fair Trading should have more powers as a regulator.
That's the belief of Lib Vann leader Kate Beecroft who was speaking after a branch meeting on Wednesday night, held in the light of a recent 2.9% price hike announced by Manx Gas, which comes into effect on Friday.
The company says the decision wasn't taken lightly, but had to be done in order to protect profits and ensure future investment in infrastructure.
Mrs Beecroft says she has particular concerns for the elderly and vulnerable, such as those on fixed incomes, and would also like to see more transparency when it comes to the company:Clip 1
