The Onchan-based Team Sky rider came fifth on stage five from Exmouth to Exeter, 14 seconds behind winner Matthias Brandle.
Mark Cavendish was 41st, 53 seconds behind, while Mark Christian came in three minutes behind in 83rd.
Swift remains in the points jersey, and is 30th in the General Classification, two minutes and twenty-six seconds behind leader Michal Kwiatkowski.
Christian is 45th, Cavendish 63rd.
