Odyssey Moon bought out

by isleofman.com 11th September 2014
One of the Island’s longest-running space companies has been bought out by an American firm.
Odyssey Moon was set up in 2007 to compete for the Google Lunar X-Prize.
The contest saw a number of private firms competing to land a rover on the lunar surface, and Odyssey Moon was registered in Lord Street in Douglas.
Space Services Holdings, based in Houston in Texas, says the acquisition will make it a global pioneer in commercial lunar missions.
Space Services has also announced Chris Stott, founder and chairperson of Manx satellite company ManSat will join its board of directors from Odyssey Moon.
