Hospice’s 5th annual midnight walk is rapidly approaching. This fabulously pink event on Saturday 27th September will commence at 10.30pm from the PokerStars building on Onchan Head. The event is supported by PokerStars through their Helping Hands programme and 3FM as the media partner. The event has been hugely successful for Hospice over the years and it is hoped that this year’s event will see a vision of pink weaving its way along Douglas Promenade, up Peel Road and onto Ballafletcher Sports Ground for a glass of pink fizz and a cupcake.
This year there is the option of online signing on – click the link www.sientries.co.uk/event.php?event_id=1476 or you can download a form from Hospice’s website on www.hospice.org.im.
Entry is just ?16 per person. Once you have registered you will receive all the necessary information including a wristband as proof of entry. This does need to be worn on the night!
There is various levels of sponsorship available, simply pay your entry fee or set up a Just Giving page on Hospice’s online site for donations or perhaps donate a bag of clothes to be used for Hospice’s shops. Every walker makes a huge difference to the local charity – with 85p of every ?1 donated or raised being spent directly on patient care.
Marshals are also needed so if you could help please contact fundraising@hospice.org.im.
Hospice will also publish dedications or messages re the event on their Facebook page – visit http://www.facebook.com/hospice.iom?ref=tn_tnmn.
Terri Cook, Corporate Events Coordinator added: “this event has steadily grown over the years; it would be wonderful to break our previous event entry record of almost 800 people last year to have over 1,000 ladies and men strutting their stuff up towards Hospice. It is a tremendous event, a real community one and we are very grateful to PokerStars through their Helping Hands programme, 3FM and everyone that gets behind this terrific evening of fun!”
Merchandise is also on sale along with a special souvenir pink butterfly. Contact the fundraising team on fundraising@hospice.org.im or ring 647433 for further details.
