Assault on seacat

by isleofman.com 9th September 2014

Passengers who witnessed an assault on board the Manannan seacat are being urged to contact police.

Police say there was an 'altercation' between two men in the gents' toilet and that there was a further assault in the cafe/bar area a short time later, during the evening sailing from Liverpool to Douglas on Saturday. Several passengers saw the incidents and alerted staff.

Sergeant Steven Lapsley said: 'Over the last few weeks there has been considerable social media attention surrounding passenger behaviour and drink related offences occurring on the Steam Packet vessels. The Isle of Man Constabulary will not tolerate public order offences of any kind whether at sea or on land. Incidents of this nature will be dealt with in a robust fashion to allow law abiding members of the public and their families to travel to and from the Island peacefully.'
