KPMG Isle of Man has announced the high profile appointment of Jackielee Urrutia to the position of Senior Manager within the global audit, tax and advisory firm’s Audit & Advisory department.
A Cum Laude graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Science in Accountancy from the Far Eastern University Manila, Philippines, Ms Urrutia passed the board examination and became a Certified Public Accountant with the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 2004. That same year, Ms Urrutia also became the National Champion in the Auditing Theory and Problems Quiz Bowl held by the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (NFJPIA). Since then, Ms Urrutia’s career experience has come to span the Philippines, Australia, the Channel Islands, Gibraltar and the Isle of Man where she has engaged a number of multinational clients and subsidiaries, cultivating a specialty in fraud identification, investment funds and insurance structures.
Ms Urrutia began her career as an Associate with Ernst & Young Philippines where she joined the Audit and Advisory department and enjoyed an early promotion to Senior Associate, upon which she was also appointed as Performance Management and Development Champion. In 2007, Ms Urrutia left Ernst & Young for KPMG Channel Islands in Guernsey to gain global experience in the financial services industry as Audit Assistant Manager. Ms Urrutia was promoted to Audit Manager in 2010 and in 2011 relocated to KPMG Australia as Audit Manager where she worked closely with the Board of Trustees, investment managers, key stakeholders and regulators. Whilst in Australia, Ms Urrutia also seconded for three months to assist one of the firm’s Australian Prudential Regulation Authority clients align its operations with APRA prudential standards and industry best practices.
Ms Urrutia joins KPMG Isle of Man as Senior Manager in Audit & Advisory where her role will be focused on identifying opportunities to enhance internal innovation and client services, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing across divisions and the global KPMG network, and continuing to drive a high-performance culture through coaching and development.
Commenting on her appointment, Ms Urrutia said: “The Isle of Man is a renowned jurisdiction which is at the centre of the global financial services industry and the forefront of the global regulatory race. My appointment is a unique opportunity to build upon my experience in the Philippines, Australia and the Channel Islands, to contribute my knowledge to the practice and to lend my experience to the local industry in general.
