MGP visitor inquest opens

A visitor to the Festival of Motorcycling, killed in an accident on the Creg-ny-Baa back road, died from multiple trauma an inquest has been told.
Fifty-eight year-old John Greenwell from Oxfordshire lost his life a week ago (28 August) in a collision involving only his machine at the junction with Honey Hill.
The vehicle technician’s body was discovered in a ditch at 1.20pm, shortly after a ride-out with friends.
A post mortem showed both his lungs had collapsed.
Today (4 Sept) coroner John Needham opened and adjourned an inquest while police investigations continue.
He offered his sincere condolences to the family of Mr Greenwell.
