The Island’s coroner of inquests has opened and adjourned a hearing into the death of a Festival of Motorcycling competitor.
Timothy Sommers Moorhead of Whitstable in Kent died in an incident during the final practice sessions of the festival.
The court heard he’d come off his machine at the 29th Milestone, also known as Casey’s, on Friday, August 22.
A post-mortem examination by consultant pathologist Dr Ervine Long found the 51 year old university lecturer died as a result of multiple injuries.
Coroner of Inquests Jayne Hughes adjourned the case to a date to be fixed and released Mr Moorhead’s body for funeral arrangements to be made.
